Art Impressions Southwestern Christmas

Art Impressions – Southwestern Christmas

Yup! I live in the southwest. I usually am not super impressed with southwest stamp images. I usually think OHHHH it makes me sad we don’t get cute snowy stuff. Then at the convention, I was in the Ai Booth (I know, hard to believe NOT! – It was probably my third or fourth trip in the booth) and I looked down and this cute little set was there.

I fell in LOVE! It was that cute little cactus and the Jackalope. I mean really who doesn’t want an image of a jackalope that is adorable? Anyway. I was also playing with some not as traditional colors – not just red and green, I used pink and lime. (I know just a tonal difference but love how it looked together.)

On this piece, I used Copic markers. I wanted the lights to “glow” so I added a lot of ink to the bulbs then used the colorless blender to spread out the ink over the lines to give a glow. It’s a simple but perfect touch to the bulbs. I had fun with my MFT background stamp from last years release. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this card and maybe feel inspired. I linked to the Ai Stamps but I don’t get anything for sharing their products so feel free go to your favorite site.

Have a blessed week!
